Although at first it may appear quite abstract, Owen Davey portrays the story of Laika the astronaut dog in a fun and exciting new way. His images are filled with content, allowing children to unpack more information each time they view a page. His expressive style accentuates this, and his colour palette though slightly muted suits the mood and the setting of the story, which is based in Russia.
